Did you share your faith?

During the last session of The Call Andy challenged us to share our faith and to give God's love away.  Many stood during the time of commitment to say, "I'm going to share my faith this next week with at least one person."

So?  Did you do it?  If you moved out of your comfort zone this past week and shared your faith we would love to hear your story.  Please tell us about it in the comments.

Saturday Afternoon Update

After lunch we all gathered together again for one more break out session and one worship time together.

Students were challenged by Doug to get connected in their church.  Byron led a session for leaders on teaching students.

We had the leaders fill out some evaluation forms.   The surveys were overwhelmingly great responses and scored the break out session and worship gatherings well.  The majority of the leaders I spoke with thought The Call was a success again this year.  One gentleman even said, "It was great.  Keep doing it!"

I'm humbled that these other churches would trust us with their students and join us in worship and teaching time.  I hope the leaders came away with some helpful info to use in their youth ministry and I pray the students will follow through with their commitment to share their faith.

If you attended The Call as a student or leader we would love for you to leave a comment here. If you served on The Call Team we would love to hear how you were blessed by serving.

Saturday Morning Update

This morning has been a great time together.

Students learned about how God has SHAPEd their life.  Byron Smith shared with them about reaching their friends on their school campus.
Leaders had break out sessions that covered the Intro to Purpose Driven Youth Ministry, Engaging students in worship, campus ministry

I highly recommend Exodus to any youth ministry out there to use for a youth event.  These young guys love Jesus Christ.  They are all students at Liberty University and are a ministry of the college.

Friday Night

Last night was a great night.  Adult leaders had a session on techno and using technology in youth ministry, led by Doug Burrows.  The students had a session on discipleship and following Christ.

Exodus did a fantastic job leading worship in music.  I shared the gospel message:
God Loves You, That's His Nature
I John 4:7
Psalm 139:13-16

God's Love is Evident
I John 4:9,10
John 3:16

God Loves Us Even Though We Sin
Romans 5:8

God's Love.  How Will You Respond?
Ephesians 2:8,9

During the commitment time several students indicated that they were trusting Jesus Christ as their Savior.   I know we had many folks lifting us up in prayer last night knowing that the message of Jesus Christ would be shared.  Thanks for praying.  I pray that these students will plug into their local church and get connected and taught to follow Christ as a disciple.

I've posted a few pics of Ambers final product on the stage decor.

Getting Ready

We are currently wrapping up a few loose ends and we will be ready.
Doug and Byron flew in last night and are ready to do some teaching.
Exodus is in route even as I type.

I'll post some pics of the staging in a few.  Amber did a killer job.

Welcome!

Look Out!  Amber's got a knife!

Welcome to The Call OBX blog site!

Today is Wednesday so we are just a couple of days away.  Right now in the auditorium artist, Amber E., is busy working on the back drop for the stage.  It should be pretty sweet!

The Call team will be busy the next couple of days getting everything in place and ready to roll. Technical stuff is being done for the big screen.  Exodus is already lining up the songs they will use to lead us in worshipping through music.  Break Out leaders are busy putting on the finishing touches on their sessions.

We are excited about The Call 09 and look forward to the event kicking off on Friday night.

There are still some seats left and online registration is still open.
